Have I ever mentioned that our line workers have dangerous jobs? They literally put their lives on the line everyday. It’s kind of hard to see in this video, but a bright blue electrical arc surprised line workers as they worked to restore power near 900 East and 360 South this afternoon. If you watch closely, you can see the flash of light at the top of the frame, followed by a lot of smoke. Fortunately, they had all been following appropriate safety precautions, and no one was hurt. (And no one said anything that would need to be bleeped out).
The power outage occurred earlier this morning, and involved a power pole that appeared charred. A variety of things could have caused the pole to briefly catch on fire, including weather. Power was restored to most homes within a couple hours.
Thanks for all you do, guys!
