Volunteers Needed for Storm Cleanup (We’ll Provide Dumpsters)

Provo City is calling for volunteers to help clean up tree debris on private property from last week’s snowstorm, and United Way of Utah County is ready to match volunteers with those in need. Those who need help disposing of broken limbs and branches, and those who want to volunteer, can call 211 for more information. The city’s Public Works Department will also place dumpsters in several locations around Provo tomorrow. Residents can use them to dispose of yard waste for free over the next week. The locations will be listed tomorrow on the city website, provo.org.
The city typically picks up debris on public property, such as power lines and city streets, and property owners are responsible for what’s on their property. But we know some of you may need help, and some of you want to help. (It’s one of those things I love about our city).
To report debris on public property, call Provo City’s Customer Service Division at 801-852-6000 or 311. If you need help with debris on your own property, or if you want to volunteer, can call United Way of Utah County at 211.
