The public is invited to attend a Design Open House for Slate Canyon Park this week – Thursday, August 1 at 6:00 pm at the Provo Recreation Center. A conceptual design of the park will be presented at the open house. Residents will be able to give comments and feedback on the design.

The Parks and Recreation Department have been working with the neighborhood committee during the park’s design process. The project is segmented into 4 development phases. The trail head and neighborhood park located at the mouth of the canyon will be part of the first phase.

Some very exciting elements will be proposed at the open house that will be unique to the area, including a mountain bike skills course.

I am actually going to be teaching bike clinics so for me this is huge! Please put in a pump track! It would give me a great place to have them.

I’m i student rider with NICA and team captain of the Provo bike team, i can’t wait for the bike park, it will be a great opportunity to help student riders with sills and technical training. =)
