Run 4 Philippines

We are deeply saddened by the disaster that recently devastated the Philippines. I know that many of our fellow Provo residents have loved ones in Tacloban and other hard hit communities within the region.

There is still much to be done in the recovery effort, so Provo City has partnered with to bring the community together for a 5k charity run on January 25 to assist families and emergency responders as they recover from the terrible effects of Typhoon Haiyan.

There will be a large concert with food & hot chocolate and many fun activities including a large snowball fight, hot air balloons, polar bear plunge, and many others. This is not only an opportunity for Provo to help a worthy cause, but an excuse to get out of the house and enjoy the winter weather!

This event brings a great opportunity to serve those in dire need of simple essentials like food, clean water and even basic health services. I personally invite you to join us by registering for the race or donating any voluntary amount to the effort.

I hope you’ll join me on the last Saturday of January for the cold weather run, and all the festivities.
