Musana Jewelry, a non-profit social enterprise based in Provo, is hosting its first fundraising gala on February 1, 2014 at the Provo City Library to raise the funds necessary to support U.S. operations. Join us for an evening of great music and fine dining as we come together to affect change in the Lugazi, Uganda community. Highlights of the event include:
- Silent and live auctions
- Catered dinner
- Live entertainment by Hudson Lights
- Contemporary jazz group from Provo.
- Popular singer and songwriter, Mindy Gledhill will be emceeing the event and is one of many community members jumping on board to help.
Musana Jewelry employs women in Lugazi, Uganda who are able to pay for their childrens’ schooling while also gaining further education themselves. One hundred percent of profits from jewelry sales goes towards artisan salaries and lessons in English, business and health.
Corporate sponsors, including local businesses and organizations, are signing on to support the fundraising gala. The three levels of corporate sponsorships include Dignity Sponsors donating $1,000, Hope Sponsors donating $2,500 and Change Sponsors donating $5,000. Tickets to the event are $100 per person or $700 for a full table of eight seats.
Gala attendees can expect to leave feeling inspired after learning about Musana’s work in Uganda, artisans and their families and the effect employment and education have on breaking the cycle of poverty.
