When first elected, I was surprised to hear of the intentions of the Federal Government to move the Provo River. Yes, it is true, and they are very serious about it. It’s called “The Provo River Delta Restoration Project” and it aims to restore the mouth of the Provo River flowing into Utah Lake. You can learn more from the post I did two years ago. One of the main objectives is to build a habitat for the June Sucker. This is no small deal for Provo and I hope all residents will watch closely and add their input into the process.
After several years of working with property owners and stake holders the Draft Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) ) is now available for review at www.ProvoRiverDelta.us.
