The Amazing Utah History Hunt

Summer is the perfect time for families to explore Utah’s natural beauty and fascinating historical landmarks. To help promote Utah’s historical sites, Familius, publisher of family books and novels, is partnering with locations throughout the Utah to create The Amazing Utah History Hunt. Now through September 14, families will have the chance to participate in the history hunt that was inspired by local authors Carol Lynch Williams and Cheri Pray Earl.

The family-friendly program is set-up like a traveling service, where kids visit various historical sites throughout the two valleys. Select Barnes & Noble locations along with all the featured sites will distribute “past-ports.” As families go to the listed locations, children will earn stamps. Once the “past-ports” are completed, participants can turn them in to Barnes & Noble in exchange for small prizes and an entrance into the grand prize drawings.

The historical locations participating in The Amazing Utah History Hunt are:

  • The Church History Museum
  • Daughters of the Utah Pioneers Museum
  • Springville-Mapleton Pioneer Museum
  • Peteetneet Museum and Cultural Arts Center
  • Camp Floyd State Park Museum
  • Orem Heritage Museum
  • Provo Pioneer Village
  • Historic Provo Library at Academy Square
  • * Barnes & Noble Orem
  • * Barnes & Noble Sandy
