Come Run Obstacles of Obesity, a charity obstacle 5k on Saturday, September 20, 2014 at the Utah Lake State Park. This unique charity fun run incorporates a trendy obstacle course with a twist! Everyone will be wearing inflatable costumes! We’re going to have a great time while educating people about the causes and challenges of obesity, especially in children. Obstacles of Obesity 5k shares a glimpse of what it’s like to live with obesity. This obstacle course isn’t primarily for professional racers or the habitual slim runner, this race is for everyone!
Every participant regardless of size, age, or fitness level can have fun and know this race is informative and positive for our community. While running a picturesque 5k route, participants will complete various obstacles that quiz about the health risks of obesity and are challenged difficult tasks one might face as an overweight child.
Student nurses will also be on sight to do free health assessments and educate bystanders on healthy habits. Half of the event proceeds will be contributed to local organizations and foundations that have a similar mission of helping youth overcome the obstacles of obesity.
