1 Million Blog Views!

1 Million Views

Since I started this silly blog it’s been an incredible communication tool for reaching out and sharing all the goings on in Provo. It’s been a place for residents to find out about road closures, community events, and fun – even EPIC – announcements.

Well, guess what? The blog has surpassed 1 million views!

I need to express my appreciation to you for making this happen! Thanks for visiting, reading and sharing your comments. This blog has been so much fun for me and I hope you’ve enjoyed reading half as much as I’ve loved sharing.

Hitting a million has given me a reason or two (or a million) to pause and think about some of my more fun posts from the early days. I recall my missing bike story or when my first City Services Fair was washed out (it was so windy that we were all waiting for the Wicked Witch of the West to visit Provo that afternoon). And one of my favorite early posts was the day I saved the City $48.

You can’t mention the blog without bringing up the towing post that generated more comments and views than any other before of since. That one really kicked the bees nest. And I’m fascinated each week when I see the number of people who viewed my post about why we send a firetruck with each ambulance call. That went up three years ago!

It’s been an amazing ride so far.

To celebrate reaching 1 million views, Provo 311 is giving away 1 million ice cream cones during Customer Appreciation Week. That’s enough ice cream cones to go around Provo City limits – twice! Trust me…we did the math.

Stop by the City Center Lobby (351 W Center Street) this week from 10:00 am till 4:00 pm and get some free ice cream and 311 swag! #ProvoResidentsRock!

And here’s to the next million!

(*Note to readers – if you think we could ACTUALLY give away a million ice cream cones, I have some ocean front property in Arizona you might be interested in)

I am glad that you are having fun but aren’t you elected to solve substantive issues rather than be a cheerleader.

In defense of the Mayor…..seems he does an excellent job at both. It seems we needed someone to be a Cheerleader for a very long time, as evidenced by the turn around and the revitalization of the Downtown. Which in turn has had a ripple effect throughout the community. He may not have Pom Poms or a Sweater with a Big P on it…..but he wears some pretty swell socks.

It’s funny that people are complaining about what this is going to cost the city. It’s just good fun, and our awesome mayor continuing his efforts to get people excited about living in Provo and feeling like it is a great place to be. If the city offers ice cream between 10 and 4 on weekdays this week, it’s not going to cost the city any significant amount of money. Go Mayor Curtis!! Go Provo!

Love this and what you have done for our city! We are coming for the ice cream.
