A couple posts ago, we shared our favorite places to go for a Girls’ Day Out, but Provo is also the perfect place for us to take our significant other out on the town as well! With so much to choose from it was hard to decide what we wanted to do. So we kept it simple and orchestrated a date night based around the two things our husbands love most – steak and thrilling fun – two things that are easy to come by thanks to Tamarack Steak House and Provo Beach Resort!
Now, we’re sure you’ve heard of Provo Beach, but you may not have heard of Tamarack Steak House…and you should!
Tamarack Steak House
Named after the yellow blazing and deciduous tamarack tree, Tamarack Steak House is located right in the heart of Provo, directly overlooking the Provo River and its coinciding trail – fully enhancing the modern woodsy interior design and creating a mountain like ambiance for those who visit.
Thanks to the design concept and carefully thought out menu, the restaurant seemed very rugged chic – providing us with an overall experience that allowed our men to connect with their inner Mountain Man persona and us to still feel like we were on a civilized date.
Don’t get us wrong though. We love going on dates that involve adventure, physical activity, and the great outdoors. But every now and again we like to dress up for a night on the town. So on those nights when you and your significant other can’t decide what to do, we highly suggest choosing Tamarack as the happy medium because the food alone is decently priced and absolutely phenomenal. Something a true foodie or true carnivore can greatly appreciate.
And, in case you like to try out a new restaurant with recommendations in hand – here is what we got and loved…

Provo Beach Resort
As we just stated, we love going on more interactive dates with our husbands. Though Provo has a plethora of things to choose from, most venues only provide one or two attractions. Which is why we are so obsessed with the Provo Beach!
This place is absolutely amazing and is full of venues that perfectly blend the atmosphere of a California Boardwalk and thrilling fun together! Having everything from arcade games to their newly built Laser Tag course there is more than enough to choose from and the best part of all, you can do everything – including an hour long session on the salt water Flo Rider with the purchase of a $30 Day Pass! Yeah, we about died when we were told that price too! Talk about a SCREAMIN good deal!
With so many things to choose from there’s a reason why Provo Beach calls it a Day Pass. Sadly we only had a couple of hours to spend at Provo Beach so we settled with trying our gumption on their two story ropes course, participating in a speed round of miniature croquette, playing a round of aliens vs. astronauts (we’ll let you decided who was who, but we will say that our scores obliterated our hubbies… insert maniacal laugh HERE) on the laser tag course, and hanging 10 in the Flo Rider simulator. These four activities are well worth the price of the $30 day pass.
Oh, and did we mention the food? You simply must make sure to grab some grub when you go! The best thing we ate there were the double scoop ice cream cones we got at Ike’s Ice Cream Parlor. Served with Blue Bell Ice Cream that you can only at the Provo Beach Resort, this was the perfect way for us to sit back, relax, and reminisce on all the fun things we had just experienced together. Talk about a nostalgic date night!
Here’s to the fun and various ways Provo helps keep the romance alive! Happy Dating!
