Provo Power is pleased to offer the Switch It Provo Energy Conservation Program, available to residential customers. The Switch It Provo program is designed to offer rebates for those who purchase qualified appliances or dispose of old appliances, and will also offer home energy audits to evaluate and/or suggest energy improvement projects and energy efficient devices within the homes for cost effectiveness. The Switch It Provo program is offered only to residential customers served by Provo City Power.
Home Energy Audits
Provo city offers a low-cost home energy audit where you’ll be able to tell immediately what things you can do to save money on your energy bill. The fee for the energy audit is $50 and will be added to your Provo City utility bill. The retail value of this audit is approximately $700.
You’re also welcome to participate in a free online home energy audit offered by the U.S. Department of Energy. For more information or to apply for a home energy audit visit: switchitprovo.com/home-energy-audits.
Provo Power customers can receive rebates for adding insulation to their attic/ceiling and outside walls. Rebates are also available for upgrading outside windows and central air conditioning units. It’s a great way to give your home the energy upgrades it needs to keep you warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer—and get cash back for doing it. You must have a central air conditioner to qualify for the listed rebates.
If you have an old refrigerator, dishwasher, clothes washer, room air conditioner, ceiling fan or lighting fixture, chances are it’s using more energy than necessary. With this program, Provo City Power is offering rebates to upgrade your old appliances with new ones that use energy-efficient technology.
To participate, you need to be a Provo Power customer in good standing, complete the application form, and submit documentation (sales receipts, etc.) within 90 days of purchase. For more information or to apply for an appliance rebate visit: switchitprovo.com/appliance-rebates.
