Provo has put its name on the map for a lot of things lately – from music to tech to happy living. Now a few dilettantes have decided to put together a party to showcase the artists and makers in P-town and they are doing it in an area that is quickly becoming a gathering place for the creative type – South of Center.
If you are an artist, maker or creative in Provo, apply. If you are a lover of art, mark your calendar and budget your support.
Here are the Deets:
- On September 4-6 500 South (between 100W and Freedom Blvd) will become a festival of art.
- The street itself will be transformed with 10 x 10 artist and maker spaces where you can meet the creators and watch many of them work
- A Print Shoppe will house the artists’ prints and the art will be for sale. Every print will have a selling price of $20. Art for Everyone is the theme here.
- A giant tent will house original art for sale. A panel discussion will be held Sunday evening about the benefit of art for a person and a community.
The event is free, but please consider a purchase from an artist.
