I woke up this morning to an early Christmas present. A new blog design. Do you like it? Hint: This is like when your spouse asks you if you like their new shoes. The answer is always yes.
The blog has come a long ways in 6 years. The first design was done by me with no blogging experience. We hung onto it for way too long because we liked the “rough on the edges” feel to it.
Some of the new features include…
I’m most excited about the events calendar – which you can find in the navigation bar at the top of my blog. Simply click on the “Calendar” tab and view Provo events by month, list, or day. Hover over any event in the calendar to get a quick preview or click on the event to view a detailed post with more information. You can also export events and share dates with your Google Calendar, Apple iCal and other compatible apps!
From the home page on my blog you can also view any upcoming events listed in the navigation bar on the righthand side.
Updated About Page
I’ve updated my bio! Click on the “About” tab to learn more about me, this blog, and a view few pictures from this last year.
Social Media Buttons
I’ve got some new social media buttons on the blog. At the bottom of each post you can now easily share content on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, or send an email. I’ve also added a snapchat button found in the navigation bar on the righthand side! If you click on the icon you’ll see my SnapCode so you can easily follow me on SnapChat. Click on any of the other icons to follow me on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Pinterest.
Provo has put its name on the map for a lot of things lately – from music to tech to happy living. We recently have been ranked #1 for Volunteering, #3 Best Performing City, and #4 Best College City. We get a lot of national rankings and sometimes it’s hard to keep up with all of our superlatives. I’ve now made it easier to view all of the cool awards Provo receives. Simply click on the “Provo Rankings” tab found in the navigation bar at the top of my blog.
There is now a place on my blog to subscribe to the City Newsletter and start receiving important city news through email. This is a great way to stay up to date on events, announcements, emergency alerts, etc. Emails are sent out once or twice a month. To start receiving the updates all you have to do is enter your email address in the field found on the righthand side of my blog and click “go”.
Feel free to take a look around, subscribe to the city newsletter, and explore some of the new features!
