Free Shirts for Emergency Alerts

Want a free shirt? All you have to do is sign up for Provo’s Emergency Alerts! Our new mass notification system enables us to provide you with critical information quickly in a variety of situations, such as: severe weather, law enforcement activity, missing persons, and evacuations of buildings or neighborhoods.

Here’s what you have to do:

First – visit and click the “Sign Up” link.

  1. Create a Profile – Fill out the sign up form by creating a username and entering your first and last name, password, security question & answer, email, and accepting the terms of use. Complete your profile by identifying at least two ways we can contact you. (You can always make changes to your account later.)
  2. Define your location – Then add at least one location to your account. Examples: home, work, school, etc. You must select one location within Provo City in order to receive notifications about Provo. (You may also opt to receive notifications about other cities in the next steps.)
  3. Select your Alerts – You’re now able to select which alerts you would like to receive. Make sure to check Provo City or fine-tune your alerts by selecting the individual items you’d like to be notified about. Example: City Events, Traffic, Power Outages, etc. You may also select Utah County or any other cities you would like to receive notifications for.
  4. Additional Information – You will now be able to add any other additional information to your profile – special needs, business details, volunteer skills, etc.
  5. Review your Account – After you click the finish button – take a screen capture of your completed account.

Show the screen capture to a customer service representative at the Provo City Center on 351 W Center Street and redeem your shirt!

Is that what the shirts really look like?

    1. Melissa

That’s what I was wondering haha

    2. Meredith

I hope it is!! And I hope it comes in women’s sizes! I would totally rock that shirt.

  2. Lisa

I didn’t capture the screen image when I signed up. Is there a master list they will be able to find me on?

    1. John

Hi Lisa, you should be able to login into your account and take a screen shot of your profile.

  3. Joseph Glynn

I am out of town until December working, can my wife pick up my t shirt?

    1. John

Hi Joseph, yes she can. She just needs to show a screen shop of your account to pick up your shirt.

  4. Philip

These are the only categories I see for Provo:
    -City Sponsored Events
    -Library News
    -Power Department – Outages
    -Public Meetings
-Public Works – Cleanups, Pickups, Trash
-Traffic – Alternate Patterns or Closures

Where are the categories mentioned in the September Update email: severe weather, law enforcement activity, missing persons, and evacuations of buildings or neighborhoods?

    1. John

Hi Philip, by signing up you will be registered to receive emergency alerts – those will be sent out when there is an emergency. In addition to the emergency alerts you can sign up to receive notifications. The categories you listed are for the optional notifications. Hopefully that makes sense!

      1. Philip

        Thank you!

  5. kirsten

Im sorry but that shirt is horrible! Provo city should be ashamed!!!

    1. Meredith

Ashamed?! That’s ridiculous. You can certainly opt out of the free swag if it’s not your style, but I see no reason why the city or its management should feel badly about it.

  6. Melanie

I signed up but will pass on that very weird looking t-shirt. How about a free month of credit on my electric bill?

  7. Diane

    Thank you! Great idea.
