As part of the Provo Orem Transportation Improvement Project, fiber optic relocations will begin Monday, October 3 and continue throughout the week at 700 North between 400 East and 700 East in Provo.
Traffic Impacts: Beginning October 3, the west leg of the 700 North/700 East intersection will be closed to all traffic, and north and southbound traffic on 700 East through the intersection will be reduced to one lane from 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. daily. Alternating one-way traffic will be directed by flaggers. Motorists should expect delays and are advised to use alternate routes when travel is time-sensitive.
700 North will also be closed to through-traffic between 700 East and 400 East. Westbound traffic will be detoured to 800 North and eastbound traffic will be detoured to 600 North. Pedestrian access will be maintained at intersections. To maintain public safety, pedestrians and bicyclists are asked to stay out of the roadway work zone and remain on the sidewalk and walkways at intersections.
