The League of American Bicyclists designated Provo as a Bicycle Friendly Community at the Silver level. Provo was one of only two cities in the nation to move from bronze to silver status this year! This is an exciting recognition especially since this award is only presented to communities with strong commitments to bicycling.
I’d also like to give Utah Valley Hospital and its staff a shout-out for receiving Bronze status as a Bicycle Friendly Business.
Provo’s bicycle community is vibrant and growing and being recognized for the investments we’ve made which encourage more participation is truly satisfying. With approximately 35 miles of bike trails and pathways, 55 miles of bike lanes, and 11 miles of widened and paved street shoulders for riding, residents are enjoying the benefits of cycling including recreation, exercise and transportation and can look forward to more trails and overall better biking conditions in the future.
Check out our report card below and see how we compare to an average gold city.
