The happy birthday banner is up, the yellow balloons have been placed along Center Street and the birthday parties have been scheduled! It’s Provo’s 168th birthday on April 1st! (No joke) and we are celebrating all week long! Get ready for a week full of community events, free birthday balloons, a chance to win birthday cake and Provo swag, and so much more! Provo Birthday Bike Ride

Provo Library West Lawn
Join Provo’s Bike Committee for a bicycle ride around some of Provo’s historic locations in celebration of the city’s 168th birthday on Tuesday, March 28, 2017. Meet us at 5:00 pm at the Provo City Library at Academy Square’s west lawn. Jessie Embry, a BYU emeritus history professor and specialist of Utah and Mormon history will provide the introduction of Provo’s early history in the second half of the 19th century and then the ride will highlight Provo’s architecture from that period. It will be a casual, family friendly ride.

This Thursday, March 30 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm come celebrate Provo’s 168th birthday with us! The Startup Building, Dev Mountain, IFA, Enigma Events, and Provo Food Truck Roundup will hosting a birthday celebration. There will be giant inflatables, fire truck, petting zoo, food trucks and more! It will be a ton of fun for the whole family!
Provo Founder’s Day Celebration

Please make note that due to the LDS General Conference being held the same weekend, the Founder’s Day celebration has been moved to Monday April 3rd. Come celebrate the 168th anniversary of the founding of Provo City! This will be a family-friendly historical event to celebrate the city’s story. The gates will open at 5:00 pm. At 6:00 Robert Carter, historian and author of three books, will give a presentation on the history of Founder’s Day celebrations in the Carriage House. Mr. Carter is very knowledgable and entertaining, so this lecture is not one to be missed! A children’s program will be held in the schoolhouse and there will be blacksmithing demonstrations in the blacksmith shop.
