The Forestry Division of Provo Power is the recipient of the Tree City USA award for the 33rd consecutive year. They have accomplished this by demonstrating an aggressive management plan including an inventory of 12,000 street trees and 30,000 utility trees, scheduled maintenance and pruning, and a tree replacement program among many other aspects.
In addition to the tree management program, the Provo Power Forestry Division annually celebrates Arbor Day by partnering with local neighborhood leaders to plant trees that will improve the neighborhood canopy and help beautify the city overall.
On May 20th at 9:00am, Provo City Power’s Forestry Division will ceremoniously celebrate Arbor Day by partnering with the leaders of the Timpanogos neighborhood, where 20 trees will be planted. The event is located at the bicycle collective on 249 North 400 West and is free and open to the public.
Provo Power and the Forestry Division are proud of its heritage as a Tree City USA and Tree Line USA and intend to improve and build on this tradition for years to come.
